Geneva Elsie Griffis age 94 years, 2 months, and 29 days of Stearns, Kentucky passed away Friday, June 10, 2016 at her home.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 12, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Randall Meadows officiating. Burial followed in the Hickman Cemetery.
She was born March 12, 1922 in Smithtown, Kentucky to Shelby Curtis "Webb" Worley and Lida Belle (Fore) Worley. Geneva had attended the Pleasant Rock United Baptist Church. She retired from McCreary Manufacturing and had also worked for Kroger and American Standard. She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, and spending time with her family.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Raymond Griffis; an infant daughter, Patricia Griffis; a daughter, Linda Hollingsworth; brothers, Hobert Worley and Hurstle "Whiz" Worley; and sisters, Joyce Hickman, Ruby Tucker, and Gladys Rich.
Survivors include her sons, Raymond "Buddy" Griffis of Stearns, Kentucky, Toby Griffis of Revelo, Kentucky, and Dale Griffis and wife, Crystal of Pine Knot, Kentucky; daughters, Shelby Watters and husband Bob of Marshes Siding, Kentucky and Retia Winchester of Smithtown, Kentucky; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a special friend, Kathy Cooper; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home served the family of Mrs. Geneva Griffis.
