Gladys Marie West age 94 years, 1 month, and 22 days of Monticello, Kentucky, formerly of Pine Knot, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at her home. Funeral Services were held Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie Peters officiating. Burial followed in the Marsh Creek Cemetery.
She was born November, 24, 1919 in Pine Knot, Kentucky to Charlie Trammell and Jallie (Moore) Trammell. Gladys was a member of the Upper Marsh Creek Baptist Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed reading her Bible.
Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Barney West; 2 infant sons, James Charles West and Barney Ray West; 3 daughters, Helen Stephan, Donna Stephens, and Mildred Walker; 3 brothers, Elmer, Charles, and Ray Trammell; and 3 sisters, Flora Mae Baird, Irene Baird, and Della Spradlin.
Survivors include her sons, Bob (Brenda) West of Pine Knot, Kentucky, Harold Dean (Jackie) West of Huntsville, TN, Joe (Della) West of Glenmary, TN, John H. West of Stearns, Kentucky, Glenn (Brenda) West of Monticello, KY, and Cecil (Kim) West of Monticello, KY; 1 brother, Donald (Sue) Trammell of Milford, OH; sisters, Betty Cooper of Cincinatti, OH, Faye (Elmer) Stephens of Fairfield, OH, Mary Lou Miller of Milford, OH, and Martha Gibson of Milford, OH; sister-in-laws, Mable Butler, Betty Rose Trammell, and Nora Dean Trammell; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home served the family of Mrs. Gladys West.
