James Bratton age 80 years, 4 months, and 27 days, of Stearns, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at the Pioneer Community Hospital in Oneida, Tennessee.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Hilton Duncan and Bro. David Wightman officiating. Burial followed in the Greenwood Cemetery.
He was born June 21, 1935 in Stearns, Kentucky to Noel Bratton and Mary Jo (Bryant) Bratton. James was a member of Stearns First Baptist Church. He was a loyal Chevy fan who enjoyed watching Nascar and going to races. James also enjoyed watching sports, especially UK Basketball and the Cincinnati Reds. But above all, James was a loving husband and father that enjoyed spending time with his family.
Preceding him in death are his parents; a son, David Bratton; brothesr, Michael Bryant and Thomas Bryant; and a sister, Carla Bryant.
Survivors include his wife, Lois (Isbell) Bratton, whom he married September 16, 1954; a son, Gregory Bratton and wife, Beverly, of Lexington, Kentucky; a daughter-in-law, Tina Bratton, of Franklin, Tennessee; sisters, Joann McFarland and husband, Ray, of Melbourne, Florida, and Janie Hillard and husband, Fred, of Lexington, Kentucky; and grandchildren, Joseph Bratton and wife, Megan, and Emily Bratton.
Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home served the family of Mr. James Bratton.
