John Harley West age 60 years, 1 month, and 15 days of Stearns, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2014 at the McCreary Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Willis Troxell officiating. Burial followed in the Marsh Creek Cemetery.
He was born June 26, 1954 in Pine Knot, Kentucky to Barney West and Gladys Marie (Trammell) West. John was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed trading life stock and items such as radios, guns, and knives.
Preceding him in death are his parents, brothers, James Charles West and Barney Ray West, and sisters, Helen Stephan, Donna Stephens, and Mildred Walker.
Survivors include his sons, Bryan West and wife, Niki, of Burnside, Kentucky, and Craig West and wife, Melissa, of Walkertown, North Carolina; brothers, Bob West and wife, Brenda of Pine Knot, Kentucky, Harold Dean West and wife, Jackie of Huntsville, Tennessee, Joe West and wife, Della of Glenmary, Tennessee, Glenn West and wife, Brenda, of Monticello, Kentucky, and Cecil West and wife, Kim, also of Monticello, Kentucky; and four grandchildren.
Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home served the family of Mr. John West.
