Obituary for Juanita McKnight

Juanita McKnight age 84 years, 6 months, and 30 days passed away Friday October 26, 2018 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset.

Funeral services were held Friday, November 2, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Chuck Elam officiating. Burial was in the Pine Knot Cemetery.

She was born March 27, 1934 to John Walker and Alcie Stephens Smith in McCreary County, Kentucky. Juanita was a retired production worker for the 7-UP Bottling Company and a lifelong member of the Pine Knot Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed walking, crocheting, caring for her dogs, cats, and birds, and cooking for her beloved family.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her first husband, Leslie Strunk, her second husband, Tracy McKnight, brothers, Elbert Smith, Doug Smith, Darrell Smith, James Smith, Elijah Smith, John Archie Smith, Leon Smith, Doyle Smith, and George Smith and sisters, Margaret Smith and Reba Schmoll.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Belinda Braden of Somerset, Kentucky, brothers ,Loren Smith and wife, Pat, of Florida, and Carl Smith of Indianapolis, Indiana, sisters, Bonnie Haynes of Ohio, and Janet Crabtree of Whitley City, special nephew, Greg Martin, special niece, Rhonda Elam, three grandchildren, Tyler Braden, Blake Braden, and Brooklyn Braden, and nine great grandchildren.

Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home was honored to serve the family of Juanita McKnight.
