Norma Marguerite (Harmon) Crabtree age 90 and 1 day of Whitley City, Kentucky passed away Friday, March 20, 2015 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 23, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Miller officiating. Burial followed in the McCreary Memorial Gardens.
She was born March 19, 1925 in Whitley City, Kentucky to Lawrence R. Harmon and Glenna (Clark) Harmon Bell. After the sudden death of Mr. Harmon, Glenna married Espy Bell and he raised Norma as his own child. Norma was a member of the Whitley City United Methodist Church. She began working at the Bank of McCreary County in 1954 and retired in 1984 as Vice President. She was an avid needle pointer, and enjoyed knitting, reading, travelling, and ice skating. Norma was a member of a ladies luncheon group, as well as the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, John Allan Crabtree; and one grandchild, William Gary Crabtree II.
Survivors include her son, William Gary Crabtree and wife, Dixie of London, Kentucky; daughter, Diane Hoeh and husband, James of Niles, Michigan; grandchildren, Elizabeth Franks, Susan Hopper, Kelly Barnett II, John A. Barnett, and George O. Fremd IV; 9 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
