Ruth B. Stephens age 95 years, 3 months, and 16 days of Stearns, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2015 at the Williamsburg Health and Rehabilitation Center in Williamsburg, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie King officiating. Burial followed in the Lower Hickory Grove Cemetery.
She was born July 2, 1920 in Fidelity, McCreary County, Kentucky to Walter Jones and Nannie (Horton) Jones. Ruth was the oldest living member of the First Hickory Grove Baptist Church. She joined the church at the age of 20, serving as a member for 75 years. Ruth was a homemaker and enjoyed caring for her family. She also enjoyed cooking and watching sports, especially Kentucky Wildcats basketball and the Cincinnati Reds baseball.
Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Orville Stephens; brothers, Harold Jones and Foist Jones; and sisters, Judy Jones, Barbara Tuck, Mary Helen Scanlon, Louene West, and Betty Ramsey.
Survivors include her sons, Jerry Stephens of Oneida, Tennessee and Tim Stephens and wife, Sherry, of Revelo, Kentucky; 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home served the family of Mrs. Ruth Stephens.
