Stanley Patton, age 83 years, 11 months, and 9 days of the Hilltop community passed away Sunday, June 24, 2018.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 3:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. James D. Cox officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Run Cemetery with Orie S. Ware Lodge officiating the Masonic rites.
He was born in Hilltop on July 15, 1934 to Alex Patton and Allie Gilreath Patton. Stanley was an electrician, having worked for Patton's Appliance Center and Stearns Coal and Lumber Company and was a self-employed master electrician for a number of years. He was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the Orie S. Ware Masonic Lodge. When he was not working, Stanley loved hiking, fishing, camping or looking for ginseng. He also enjoyed flowers , birds, and the great outdoors. He loved to travel but his greatest joy came from spending time with his family.
Preceding him in death are his parents, his wife, Hazel Sumner Patton, and brothers, Eugene Patton and Thaddeus Patton.
Survivors include sons, Lee Patton, Junior Patton and his wife, Carolyn, and Scottie Patton, all of Hilltop, daughters, Vivian Sexton and her husband, Tip, of Oneida, Faye Heath and her husband, Donald, of Revelo, Tammie Nevels and her husband, Nathan, of Somerset, and Matty Patton of Hilltop, sisters, Sue New of Hilltop, and Faye King of Georgia, twenty five grandchildren, and thirty two great grandchildren.
