Stephanie Lynn Taylor , age 64 years, 3 months, and 26 days, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at her home in Pine Knot, Kentucky.
She was born November 30, 1953 in San Marcos, Texas to Bill Stephens and Betty (Jones) Stephens. Stephanie was passionate about caring for animals and spent much of her time as a caretaker and advocate for stray and abandoned pets. She helped establish a low cost spay and neuter program locally and was instrumental in organizing the McCreary County Animal Protection League. She also enjoyed collecting antiques and jewelry.
Preceding her in death is her father.
Survivors include her mother, Betty Strode, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, a daughter, Tyra Sharp, and husband, Chris, of Corbin, Kentucky, a half brother, Farrell Stephens, of Florida, a sister, Beverly Plunkett, of Michigan, her grandchildren, Brandon Harp and Jaden Harp, and a special aunt, Wallena Hinkle and husband, Ray, of Whitley City.
In keeping with her wishes, Stephanie was cremated.
Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home was honored to serve the family of Stephanie Taylor.
