Wilma Williams Godsey age 91 years, 6 months, and 17 days of Burnside, Kentucky passed away Thursday, March 13, 2014 at the McCreary County Health & Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were held Sunday, March 16, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Hickman Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Staley officiating. Burial followed in the Angel Cemetery in Stearns, Kentucky.
She was born August 24, 1922 in Whitley City, Kentucky to Joseph Henry and Pearl Carter Henry. Wilma was a member of the Tateville Baptist Church and helped run Williams Grocery and later Williams Hardware Store. She was a member of the Laurel Heights Order of the Eastern Star in Stearns, Kentucky. She enjoyed fishing, water sports; swimming, and skiing until the of age 70. Wilma also enjoyed music, playing piano, and sang in church for many years.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husbands, Billy Joe Williams and Ray Gough, brothers, Clinton Henry and Charles Edwin Henry; and sisters, Chloe Spencer, Rosemary Orme, Rova Harmon, Mildred Strunk, and Madeline Wright.
She is survived by her husband, Hank Godsey of Sloans Valley, Kentucky, a son Charles Williams and his wife, Lana, of Whitley City, a daughter, Sharon Blevins and her husband, Carl, of Whitley City, a brother, Bill Henry of Monticello, Kentucky, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home served the family of Mrs. Wilma Williams Godsey.
